The Maria Nobrega Foundation assisted in the gathering of world heritage experts in Cyrene, Libya in 2008. These experts included representatives from UNESCO and ICCROM, the event was headlined by the signing of the Cyrene Declaration by Libyan authorities committing to protect the vast coastal Mediterranean Green Mountains area's natural and cultural assets (including Greek and Roman archaeological sites).

The Apollo Theatre site has been identified by the Foundation as a project for gradual restoration under the tutelage of Libyan antiquities authorities.
